MUTING MIDDLEMEN

[77b middle] Gemarah [quoting the Mishnah]: A Jew may only marry an Egyptian after three generations from the convert.
Sefer Hachinuch: The reason a Jew may marry into this Egyptian line is because even though they made us slaves and killed our children, they gave us an ‘Achsania’ (a place to live). As absolutely terrible as they were to us, we cannot negate even the slightest bit of good.

D-E-ep Thoughts: We are always obligated to find the “good” inside every person and thing in this world. Not only must we acknowledge it, but we must be grateful to the messengers for bringing forth that aspect into creation. We must never drown any bit of positivity by trying to nullify it in the stormy sea. G-d communicates with us through any and every means possible and to give anything but immense thankfulness to the intermediary is to deny its ultimate source. We are required to appreciate every bit of generosity that comes our way; both from the initial sender and the specific agent for completing one of G-d’s tasks.
