[53a bottom] Abaye and Rava: This Mishna chose Chalitzah (rather than Yebum) when discussing that nothing else is valid after it, because it prefers to discuss the release of a Yevamah woman to the general population (where she may now marry out of the family).

Prac-T-cal Tidbits: It is important to learn things that are applicable to the whole general population and not just to certain select individuals [ie: it makes more sense for a male to learn laws all male Jews need to know first rather than reading about a law that applies only to a specific man who wants to convert]. Make sure to learn general applicable laws before we detail specifics which may not apply to ourselves.
