[20a middle] Braisa: If one extended his hand into a basket of figs on his shoulders and a shovel was in the basket as well and his mind was only on the figs but not on the shovel (to guard them from becoming contaminated), the figs are Tahor (still spiritually clean) but the shovel is not.

T’s Lesson: We should always be mindful of the whole picture and never forget even small parts of anything, so as not to invalidate even a slight aspect of it. Ie: When one does Hamotzei (Bracha on bread), one should keep in mind for the Bracha to include everything he may eat until Bentching (grace after meals). Make sure to be mindful of all aspects of each Mitzvah that we do.
